Fine furniture is a great way to showcase the beauty of wood. Here at Pacific Coast Woods we carry a good selection of some of the finest woods from the Pacific Northwest. Our inventory is constantly changing so if you don't see what you are looking for, email or give us a call.
Myrtlewood
The most exotic wood growing in the Pacific Northwest. Myrtlewood has an extremely wide variety of colors. No two trees will be the same. It occurs in beautifully figured and burled wood. Combine this with its wide variety of colors and you get a spectacular look.
Price: $4.00 to $7.50 per board foot
Maple
Figured, curly, quilted or burl, we have a good inventory of big leaf maple to choose from for musical instruments, fine furniture, cabinetry and turning.
Price: $4.50 to $8.00 per board foot
Chinquapin
Sought after by cabinet and fine furniture makers, but not widely used because trees large enough to produce good quality lumber can be hard to come by. Color ranges from creamy white to reddish pink with brown and gray streaks running through it.
Price: $3.50 to $5.00 per board foot
Oregon white oak
This has a wide range of uses. Because of its warm golden brown color it is widely used in furniture making. When 1/4 sawn the rays are long, the sapwood is very white and if cut in August or September it will hold its color. Combine this with the golden brown color of the heart wood and you get a beautiful look. It is also prized for boat building because it is extremelyt strong and very rot resistant.
Price: $3.00 to $5.00 per board foot
Alder
Used extensively for cabinets and furniture. Here at Pacific Coast Woods we only carry spalted alder. After years of trial and error we have developed a method to beautifully spalt this wood.
Price: $4.50 per board foot
Redwood
All of our redwood comes from salvaged treees and old stumps. Whether you are looking for clear vertical grain for architectural features, high quality acoustic guitar soundboards or intensely figured tops for electric guitars, we have it.
Price: $5.00 and up per board foot
Port Orford cedar
Also known as white cedar it is one of the most unique woods growing in North America. It has a very limited range along the Pacific Coast, from Southern Oregon into far northern California. Port Orford cedar is light weight yet very strong and rot resistant. This makes it highly prized for boat building and architectural features.
Clear vertical grain Douglas fir
A great wood for architectural features, boat lumber and finish carpentry. We carry a good selection in several widths and thicknesses. We can custom saw to your specifications.
